Our identity comes from the Waratah flower, the emblem of New South Wales, and the name of the townl, where Ben Brown, our founder and head beekeeper, was born.
Ben's father and grandfather were also beekeepers, with our first hives started in 1918. We now run over 2000 hives.
The Waratah flower is a cultural symbol, adorning Australian souvenir icons, from stamps to the state flag of New South Wales.
The root word of Waratah is ‘warada’ from the local aboriginal language, meaning ‘beautiful’ or ‘red-flowering tree’.
Our flower is found in the story of the Wonga Wonga pigeons, who flew above the treetops, and the tales of Toonkoo and Ingaardi, the lost hunter & the grieving widow who created the rivers and streams.
This deep history of Australian culture is the inspiration for all of us. It is this understanding of the land from which we come that inspires what we do.
In Australia, we have access to wild forests of Leptospermum and the honey produced in Australia has the same identical markers as found in New Zealand Manuka honey.
We are working with the Australian Manuka Honey Association to develop suitable markers for authenticating Australian Manuka to global market requirements.

The golden dot work seen on our jars is drawn from the classical painting techniques and is a visual representation of the miles we travel beekeeping and of our time on the road to bring you the best.
When you see our dot work and the AMHA logo, you know that the product you buy is a 100% original and uniquely authentic taste of Australian nature.

100% Australian owned and Made, we produce honey from the source. All of our honeys are sourced directly from apiaries within Australia. None of our honey is blended with syrups or imported materials.
Each batch is tested to ensure we meet the quality expectations we set for ourselves.
This includes testing for C4 and AFB, along with MGO, DHA and HMF. All testing is carried out by an independent laboratory, with ISO17025 quality accreditations.
Our goals are to uplift the global appreciation of Australian culture, preserve and regenerate our forests and create works that endure a lifetime, while delivering people products that enhance their health.
We do this by planting trees, keeping bees and using inputs made in Australia and New Zealand, to keep our carbon footprint sustainable, and we bring it all together into something that you can use, whereever you are in the world.
Combining leading science from Australia and New Zealand, the classic honey grading systems of Canada, the MF grading is based firmly on the work of the late Dr Peter Molan at the Waikato Honey Research Institute, Dr Peter Brooks at the USC , the research of Dr Thomas Henle at the University of Dresden and the valuable work carried out by New Zealand's Ministry for Primary Industries to define chemical markers in Manuka.
The MF grade replaces all of the other current systems, bringing the industry standards up to speed with consumer expectations of quality and testing and can be applied to both New Zealand and Australian Manuka. Because it is a statement of fact, and not one of it's direct therapeutic potential, the grading system is also aligned with Government and Industry requirements for labelling as outlined in the 2014 Manuka Honey Labelling Guidelines and the FSANZ requirements for labelling of food products. It is free to use if you are an authentic Manuka producer.
The MF Grade makes it simple and easy to understand how strong your Manuka honey is.
While we here in Australia don't use the Macron above the A, we still test for chemical markers. Our MF rating indicates grade of the honey based on both MGO and Chemical marker analysis. We find high levels of the approved d Markers in our honey, so we call it what it is, Monofloral Manuka honey.
We all have to start somewhere and Multi-floral (Mf) Manuka is it,.
The reason is is called Multifloral is that it also contains some other nectar sources such as Tea Tree (Malealeuca alternifolia) Eucalyptus & Kanuka (Kunzea ericoides), dependent on it's country of origin. The other nectar sources vary if the honey is from NZ or Australia and also based on the harvest season, and we promse that it will always be absolutely deliciously fantastically good pure and natural honey.
The production of natural health products is our business. Here is an overview of our honey range & suggested applications.
