We are the source.

In the Kurin-gai oral traditions, the story of Warada is told to children around the fireplace in many parts of the big dry. It tells of a tree as tall as the forest, blooming with magnificent red trumpets that drip nectar like a tropical waterfall.

Sticky, sweet droplets of honey seem to rain from the canopy like golden sunlight. The waratah blooms.

The color is a beautiful scarlet hue. It's color came from the dreamtime, the color of ruby, as bright as a pigeons blood.

The tales speak of a brave wonga wonga pigeon, a lost hunter and a grieving widow flowing tears in the forest.

The waradaa is known in the oral history of the kurin-gai and woremi people and is found throughout our range.

Interestingly, the waratah flower was recognised as a source of sweetness for thousands of years.

We find in this rich tapestry of floral history, a symbol of our own status, as the creators of beautiful honey's from the wild Australian countryside.
